ART SPIEGELMAN DISCUSSES THE LATE, GREAT MAURICE SENDAK
I've found a remarkable article in THE NEW YORKER online where comic book master Art Spiegelman (Maus), talks about his friendship and collaboration with "Where the Wild Things Are" author Maurice Sendak. Sadly Sendak died recently on May 8 of complications related to a stroke and with him now gone forever, I'm very pleased to be able to read more about the man from another very gifted creative.
The attached panel is from the collaborative project called "In the Dumps" in which they both illustrated themselves and shared the drawing duties evenly. It's a fascinating project and article.
The entire article can be read here.
